New Hampshire Community Technical College – Laconia

Project Scope: Approximately 45,000 sf consisting of demolition, window replacement (150), millwork, ceilings, flooring, paint, fire sprinkler work, HVAC, controls, fire alarm system, lighting and complete renovation of ten bathrooms.

Interesting Notes: The approximately four month construction schedule was extremely aggressive considering the complexity and nature of work at hand. Installation of a new duct work system, sprinkler additions and rework, and electrical systems and lights including fire alarm within the corridors, classrooms and office spaces. The space above the ceiling in the corridors was extremely limited and meant coordination with trades was crucial. The owner then challenged Turnstone to complete an additional $270,000 worth of finishes within same time frame and in some cases to an accelerated time frame to enable furniture to be moved back into classrooms. Turnstone accepted this challenge and was able to substantially complete the contract items as well as incorporate all the changes by the dates that the college needed them by. Basically the project was completed within a 3 month time frame.
