Stone Arch Bridge Repairs

Project Scope: Rehabilitation of an existing stone arch bridge. This includes reconstruction of the parapets, removal and resetting of granite caps, additional granite added where concrete was removed, re-pointing of the stone, removal of the concrete caps, excavation of the existing surface, installation of the waterproof membrane and the installation of a handrail. This project is extremely unique and has many interesting pieces to it. Safety was a huge aspect as staging was set in the river and work was completed on the outside of the bridge using this staging. As well, no equipment over 2,000lbs was allowed on the bridge and the majority of the excavation was done by hand.
